Inscription
謖謖寒濤嶺上松,風廻聽得有疏鐘。山俺不愛門前事,一任閒雲过別峰。錢東

Translation
Cold waves lapping (the shore),
Pines (grow) on the ridge;
As the wind turns, one hears a distant bell.
In the mountains, I care not for worldly affairs,
Let the drifting clouds pass freely to other peaks.

Artist Bio
Qian Dong (錢東, 1752-1823 or later), courtesy name Donggao (東皋), Gaosang (杲桑) and pseudonym Xiuhai (袖海), Yuyusheng (玉鱼生), was a native of Renhe (now Hangzhou, Zhejiang). He resided in Yangzhou, Jiangsu province, and his residence was named Shuangqiao Shulei (双桥书垒). He was proficient in poetry, calligraphy, and painting. His style is attributed to that of Yun Shouping (恽寿平, 1633-1690). His landscape painting displays the style of Wen Zhengming. Qian Dong quite often collaborated with his cousin Qian Du (錢杜, 1764-1845) in painting.
