This rare Chinese tiny cage is well-constructed for keeping a cricket. The cricket is an auspicious symbol. In traditional Chinese culture, crickets were kept for luck and their "songs" (stridulation). The wooden top and bottom are in a fan shape with a metal ring handle on the top. An ingenious door slides upward to allow access.
